BY GWEN DRESSEL - CHRISTIAN FAMILY WORSHIP
My granddaughter’s favorite verse is John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him, should not perish but have everlasting life." 17 — "For God sent not his Son into the world to judge the world; but that the world should be saved through Him."
Christmas we celebrated the birth of Christ; now Easter we celebrate the death and resurrection of Christ.
This last week, Heaven celebrated the homecoming of Billy Graham, a very humble and kind man. His greatest joy was bringing people to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. I remember going to his crusade in Minneapolis and giving my life to Christ. This was many years ago and my life has never been the same.
Christ wants us all to come to Him, no matter what color — red, yellow, black or white — male or female. God looks at the heart, He loves the sinner but hates the sin. When we first come to know Jesus as our Lord Savior; God knows that we have many things in our lives that need the resurrection power of Jesus Christ to make us clean.
See 2 Corinthians 5:17 — "therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things become new."
As we spend time in the Word, praying without ceasing — 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 — rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks, for this is will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Some are thinking as they are reading this: "Why is she talking about being saved?" Because people are going to hell around you every day. Do you take the time to talk your friends, neighbors, people on the street? Are you walking the walk and talking the talk or are you one way at home and another way at work?
Listening to people and how they talk and act is very interesting. You can really tell where a person is in life just by their mannerisms.
I like talking to babies and little ones (this comes as a privilege with age). Yesterday I was in Walmart and a mother and and her daughter were shopping. I just asked them how they were, making small talk and the little girl leaned over to me and said: "Can I give you a hug?" Of course, I let her give me a hug and I gave her a hug back. As I hugged her, I let the blessing of the Lord flow through her. I told her mother what a beautiful child she had and they grow up so fast, so cherish her.
So you say: "What is the big deal?" When you carry the anointing of God on you, little children can see that. They don’t know what it is, but they want it.
Romans 10:9, 10 says: "If you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 — For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
So this Easter season, examine your life and if you don’t know if you are saved or not, come unto God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Ghost and become ONE with Him. Or if you do know Jesus as your Lord and Savior but you know that you need to recommit your life to Him, He is waiting for you to come back to Him.
Numbers 6:24-26 says: "The Lord Bless you and keep you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace."
May you have a beautiful life and remember: "Jesus is Lord."
