GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH IN SPIRIT LAKE
As Christians, we believe in the God of the "Much More." When Jesus made clear to his followers that he would be returning to his Father and that they, in turn, would be persecuted, they were plunged into grief. So he went on to say more about the Holy Spirit whom he would send as their counselor and advocate.
Jesus said, "I have 'much more' to tell you, but now it would be too much for you to bear. But when the spirit of truth comes, he will lead you into all the truth" (John 16:12-13).
So often you and I are not ready for all that he wants to say or show us. But that's just the point: He always has "much more" for us than we can stand or understand.
A traveler sat one morning having breakfast in a lodge high in the mountains. Through the window he could see great snow-covered peaks, green forested slopes and a bright blue sky. He exclaimed to his server that he had never expected to see such beauty anywhere.
The server replied: "Yes, but wait 'til you see the other side!" That is Jesus' word to his children, to you and me. So "much more" is available!
More insight into the truth, more vision for the future, more appreciation for the glory of God! Stop at any clubhouse close to where you live on any Sunday morning to see just exactly how "much more" is available, all for you. Or come to Grace, anytime -- and remember, GRACE: It's for me, it's for you, it's for everyone!
