Father Carl Mann has accepted the call to become priest-in-charge at Christ Episcopal Church in Burlington. His last service at St. Alban's Episcopal Church will be the 10 a.m. Easter Sunday service on March 27.
Father Carl was ordained a priest and became priest-in-charge at St. Alban's in June 2006. He was formally installed as Rector on June 22, 2008, the feast of St. Alban.
During his nearly 10 years at St. Alban's, Father Carl has been appreciative of all of the people who have come and gone through the doors of the Church.
"I will take a little bit of everybody with me wherever I go," he said.
Father Mann witnessed a heart of mission grow within the parish, and a greater understanding and practice of Anglican spirituality, and his greatest joy has been the children he has watched grow up in the parish, as well as the children he ministered to on his two trips to Swaziland with members of his congregation and the Diocese of Iowa. "They have been a blessing to me," he said.
The congregation of St. Alban's had a special brunch for Father Carl and his wife, Jane, after the Palm Sunday service on March 20.
In addition to the Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday services, there will be additional Holy Week services at St Alban's:
* On Maundy Thursday, March 24, there will be the Maundy Thursday Liturgy with Holy Eucharist and the stripping of the High Altar at 7 p.m.
* On Good Friday, March 25, there will be the Stations of the Cross at noon and Good Friday Liturgy with distribution of Holy Communion from the Reserve Sacrament at 7 p.m.
On Holy Saturday, March 26, there will be the Holy Saturday Liturgy at 10 a.m. and The Great Vigil at 7 p.m.
St. Alban's Episcopal Church is located at 2011 23rd St. in Spirit Lake, just east of the Lakes Regional Hospital.
