This weekend 6.5.09 -- 6.7.09

Posted Thursday, June 4, 2009, at 3:18 PM

THURSDAY 6.4.09. G. B. Leighton is at Captain's Getaway in Arnold's Park. If you have never been to a G.B. concert . . . . . . words cannot do it justice. Show usually starts around 9. The show is upstairs at Captain's and the door to the upstairs opens around 8, a little later if the sound check runs long. Yes there is a cover for the show, but it is more than worth it.

Also this weekend is the 32 Annual University of Okoboji Soccer Classic. Back in 1977 two gentleman from Omaha, Jim Morrison & Bob Ellis, came to Herman with the idea of a soccer tournament. 32 years later it is still going strong. All 45 teams are out of Omaha this year. 700 kids participating in two age groups 12 & under, 14 & under compete at the Okoboji High School Sports Complex this Saturday and Sunday. There is no admission charge and we invite you to come watch this exciting event.

Sunday, after 6 PM there is a full moon party at the Barefoot Bar behind Parks Marina. Trust me, bring your date and have your party hat on.
