Those I Avoid!Posted Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at 1:10 PM
As I'm out and about I generally like everyone I meet. Most people are out to have fun and see friends. There are a couple individuals out there who may have other motives.
The first of these individuals is Creepy McCreeperson. That's not his real name, but it a good description of the fellow who "creeps" into the bar all by himself and lingers near a group of people he does not know until one of them makes the mistake of making eye contact with him OR WORSE says hi. Once you make contact with Creepy he sticks to you like glue! If he had something interesting to offer to the conversation that would be one thing, BUT Creepy just stands there and eyes you like you're the most delicious blue Icee he's ever come across. (I happen to think Blue Icee's are the most delicious concoction on Earth.) One evening a friend of mine was getting sassy and thought she'd play a little trick on a few of us by latching Creepy McCreeperson onto us. Little did she know once she made the TERRIBLE mistake of saying hello to him the rest of us IMMEDIATELY turned away and made her sweat it out with Creepy by herself for about 15 minutes. Once she learned her lesson we rescued her and she will never again even make eye contact with Creepy. Another person I try to avoid is the married guy who "forgets" he's married and then has the NERVE to criticize me for NOT being interested in him. I see no problem with married people talking to single people in a social setting in Okoboji. It's a small town. We all know each other and most people are just friendly! I ran into a situation not too long ago that was not the case of "just being friendly." I was just talking to a friend of a friend, trying to be polite, but when I didn't show "enough" interest in him he got angry and criticized me. I had to verbally kick his butt and put him in his place. It's a small town! I know he has a wife and child at home! For goodness sakes! Actually, right now those are the only 2 people I try to avoid. Everyone else in Okoboji is loads of fun and contributes to me having a fantastic night out on the town! Hmm...blue icees are NOT the most delicious things ever...I happen to think red ones are the best things on this planet! But I totally agree with the rest of the blog.
Another bad thing Creepy does is hang out behind a group taking photos and somehow manages to be in the background of every single one! GET YOUR OWN FRIENDS CREEPY!
