Can rock, paper, scissors solve everything?

I was at a bar the other day when I noticed a group of guys. A couple of them couldn't agree on something so they played rock, paper, scissors. The tall guy won. End of story. They moved on. Later they disagreed about something else and again rock, paper, scissors came out. This time the guy who looked like the Hu Hot character won. End of story. They moved on. It made me wonder if everything can solved by rock, paper, scissors. Take my friend Hollow Fat GRRL for instance. She was going on a shopping trip with her mom and sister when her boyfriend of 5 years offered to give her an extra $100 to spend. She got mad at him and they had a disagreement that lasted 2 days. She should have said, "Rock, paper, scissors. If I win you keep the money. If you win, I take the money." Then they would have had those 2 days to argue about who should win American Idol, a much more "life altering" debate.

Long story short he talked her into taking the money and even upped it to $150. She graciously thanked him and on a whim asked him why he would do such a nice thing. This lead to another disagreement when he told her he did it because one of his friends did the same thing for his girlfriend and he thought it sounded nice. Hollow Fat GRRL was FURIOUS that he did it because one of his friends did it and not because he just wanted to. Perhaps rock, paper, scissors doesn't solve irrationality.

I was telling one of my FAVORITE people in the WHOLE world this story and she told me her boyfriend gives her money to spend and she gladly takes it! BUT wonders if that make her a bad person, or good at managing her own money (Since she spends his)...HA! :) We decided to find the answer to that question using rock, paper, scissors. She won and decided that meant she was a good person. End of story. We moved on.
